If you’ve been looking at wedding venues in Alexandria, LA, chances are you’ve come across the Historic Hotel Bentley. And if you haven’t, well, let me introduce you to one of the most beautiful wedding venues in Central Louisiana!<\/p>\n

There’s just something about the Hotel Bentley. The history, the architecture, the grand staircase, those gorgeous chandeliers. It’s the kind of place that makes you stop and look around for a second when you walk through the doors.<\/p>\n

But as a wedding coordinator who has spent A LOT of time in this building, I can tell you there’s so much more to love about a Hotel Bentley wedding in Alexandria, LA, than just how pretty it is.<\/p>\n

And since this happens to be the venue where I coordinate weddings most often, I have a few things to share!<\/p>\n

The Grand Ballroom Is Kind of a Showstopper<\/h2>\n

Let’s start with the obvious. That ballroom!<\/p>\n

If you’re dreaming of a classic, elegant wedding reception, the Grand Ballroom at the Hotel Bentley is pretty hard to beat.<\/p>\n

We’re talking nearly 5,000 square feet, eight glass chandeliers, and an ornate plaster ceiling that’s original to 1908. Yes, 1908!<\/p>\n

It’s one of those spaces that already has so much character on its own. You can bring in beautiful florals, candles, and all the personal details you’ve been dreaming about, but the room itself is already doing a lot of the heavy lifting.<\/p>\n

And I love that for you (and your decorating budget!).<\/p>\n

The ballroom also has a dedicated stage for your band or DJ, which is such a nice feature when you’re planning the layout of your reception.<\/p>\n

According to the Hotel Bentley’s event information, the ballroom can accommodate up to 300 guests for a seated event, making it a great option for couples planning a larger wedding in Alexandria.<\/p>\n

Of course, your actual guest count and layout will depend on things like your dance floor, entertainment, and table arrangements. Because fitting 300 people in a room and making sure 300 people can comfortably enjoy a wedding reception are two very different things!<\/p>\n

A Beautiful Ballroom Is Great. A Reception That Flows? Even Better.<\/h3>\n

Cocktail Hour, Ceremony, or Even Additional Guest Seating<\/h3>\n

One of the things I love about the Hotel Bentley is the flexibility of using the lobby as part of your wedding celebration.<\/p>\n

Depending on your plans and the arrangements made with the hotel, the lobby can be used for cocktail hour, additional guest seating, or even your wedding ceremony.<\/p>\n

Imagine your guests arriving, walking into that gorgeous lobby, and enjoying cocktail hour before making their way into the Grand Ballroom for the reception.<\/p>\n

Or picture exchanging your vows surrounded by all that historic architecture before transitioning into an evening of dinner and dancing.<\/p>\n

Pretty dreamy, right?<\/p>\n

But here’s where the logistics matter.<\/p>\n

If you’re planning to use the lobby for multiple parts of your wedding, you’ll want to think through how those transitions will work. Where will guests go between events? Will anything need to be moved or reset? How much time will those changes take?<\/p>\n

The Claiborne Room, located on the mezzanine level, has beautiful floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Red River and Jackson Street Bridge. There are also smaller spaces throughout the building that can accommodate more intimate gatherings.<\/p>\n

Depending on what you’re planning, these rooms may be worth exploring for a rehearsal dinner, smaller celebration, or another wedding-related event.<\/p>\n

The hotel also notes that tables, chairs, and complimentary linens are provided for events, which is definitely something worth asking about when you’re comparing venue options.<\/p>\n

Just be sure to confirm exactly what’s included with your specific rental and which spaces are available for your date.<\/p>\n

Because nobody likes finding out two months before their wedding that something they thought was included actually wasn’t. Trust me on that one!<\/p>\n
