It happens at nearly every wedding I coordinate here in Central Louisiana.<\/p>\n

The morning starts slow. Coffee\u2019s brewing, curling irons are heating up, and you\u2019re surrounded by your people. It feels like there\u2019s time. Like the day is stretching out in front of you.<\/p>\n

Until suddenly, it\u2019s not.<\/p>\n

You\u2019re walking out to your getaway car, music playing, everyone cheering, and somewhere in between, the whole day slipped through your hands.<\/p>\n

As a wedding coordinator in Alexandria LA, I hear it constantly: “It went by so fast.”<\/p>\n

And they\u2019re right. It really is the best day ever. But it\u2019s also full, emotionally, mentally, and logistically. Which is exactly why the couples who enjoy it the most aren\u2019t just focused on how it looks. They\u2019re intentional about how it feels.<\/p>\n

And this is where a small decision can quietly change everything.<\/p>\n

A First Look Slows Everything Down (In the Best Way)<\/h2>\n

Okay but wait, quick honesty moment.<\/p>\n

I didn\u2019t do a first look at my own wedding. I was fully committed to tradition. I thought the aisle moment would feel bigger, more emotional.<\/p>\n

And yes, it was special.<\/p>\n

But looking back, I wish we had done both.<\/p>\n

Because a first look isn\u2019t really about the photos, even though they\u2019re always beautiful. It\u2019s about creating a pocket of stillness in a day that moves fast.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s just the two of you. No audience. No timeline pressure.<\/p>\n

You get to breathe. Hug. Laugh. Cry. Say, “Can you believe we\u2019re doing this?”<\/p>\n

And that moment grounds you for everything that follows.<\/p>\n
